Ekon från det dova, mörka 80-talet tar tillbaka initiativet.
Principe Valiente har redan rönt uppmärksamhet med sin dova och rätt mörka pop, både i Sverige och utomlands. Fullt förståeligt, fullt rättvisande. För här finns element som retar sinnen som inte blivit retade på länge, sinnen som man hade förträngt, men som får kraft att blossa upp med full styrka. När man lyssnar på fullängdaren, på helheten, smälter allt samman till en samling som får en att minnas en del av 80-talets storheter. En stor del Sisters of Mercy, Mission eller tidiga Simple Minds. Joy Division.
Själva arrangemangen verkar söka referenserna, verkar söka tidsperioden, verkar vilja nå tillbaka till grunden. Här finns också ekon av svenskt 80-tal, lite av Strandeds gyllene period i en del melodier, fast mörkare, dovare. Det blir överrumplande, det blir lite överraskande. Att man saknade soundet och idiomet. Det är fortfarande den sortens dova skymning som man fort blir mätt på, så efter hand svalnar den nyvunna glöden, i längden dras den ut och förminskas. Men man återkommer till den. Som ett begär, som ett beroende.

Darkness Before Dawn - The Night (edit)
Principe Valiente played at the WGT Festival in 2009 and has been approached to participate on the the compilation series "DARKNESS BEFORE DAWN", due to be released in time for this year's huge WGT Festival in Leipzig, Germany in June.
Principe Valiente will be involved with an edited version of the song ‘The Night’.
"DARKNESS BEFORE DAWN" consists of 80% exclusive, previously unreleased, remixed and livematerial.

Mörkt mässande á la Sisters Of Mercy blandat med monotont malande i Joy Divisions spår blir huvudstadstrion Principe Valiente som har en stor framtid framför sig. Dramatiken finns där, melankolin likaså, men framförallt lever "Speed of light" hela vägen mot sexminutersstrecket utan att bli tråkig. Både känsla och attityd borgar alltid för framgång.

Principe Valiente - self released EP
Based out of Stockholm, Principe Valiente have a fresh sound, and have four tracks on this EP that suggest they could be a major player should they land a record deal.
Fernando sings with a bit of a low monotone that hints at a love of Ian Curtis and Interpol. ‘Speed Of Light’ is a lengthy track (almost 6 minutes) that starts off with a simple guitar intro, and morphs into a very vocal track, filled with both atmosphere and ambition. EP’s like this really deserve to find an audience, and I’m glad I wound up on Honorato’s radar. I go back to the 4 tracks on this little independent release as often as some of the bigger name CDs I’ve been playing in the past two months.
Principe Valiente’s music is both timely, and well crafted. Pop by their myspace and play some of these songs. You’ll be impressed. I promise.
